Swann

Swann utilizes one of the best looking cameras in the industry, you know, if something like that mattered at all. It comes with a 60’ BNC cable for connecting to a DVR and power. They were also extremely considerate, including a BNC-RCA connector so you an connect instantly to your TV.

One of the best features of the Swann SWPRO-760CAM is its wide-angle range. Let’s face it, while your home is your single most valuable investment, you’re still unlikely to set up a bank of dozens of security cameras, so the wide-angle lens helps increase your visual coverage and decrease the number of cameras needed.

A problem that we have encountered during our review period is the camera’s range. While under normal lighting conditions, it works fairly well, the night vision range is definitely less than 100 feet. If you’ve got a nearby camera pointed at your front door, this is not a huge problem, but for units set up to monitor larger areas, taking advantage of the wide-angle lens, the lens’ sensitivity to light becomes more of an issue. It’s not a deal-breaker, but it must be mentioned.

Another great feature is a very simple one that many other cameras seem to have neglected. You see, sometimes in rains, and Swann has included (at no additional cost)  weatherproof casing that extends beyond the lens.

Mobile & DVR not included. Not all handsets supported. Smartphone viewing & controls when combined with a Swann networking DVR and free SwannView app.

Since we’re all living in an Amazon controlled world, it’s always interesting to check out Emperor Bezos’ sandbox to see what customers like you have written.

Some systems have hundreds, if not thousands of reviews, others have much fewer.

In this case, the Swann SWPRO 760CAM has one.

One review. That’s it. It’s a three star review that actually brings up a point that we mentioned earlier in our discussion above, and in fact sums up the product quite nicely and succinctly. The Swann SWPRO 760 is “A little to (sic) light sensitive. It’s ok!”

We agree.
